Rock Films Caught the Audience's Eye in MusiXine

International Music Film Festival MusiXine came to an end last Saturday. MusiXine became an independent wintertime event after having been a part of Oulu Music Video Festival and Air Guitar World Championships for three years.

The most wanted screenings of the festival weekend were the documentaries The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights and Lemmy. The Official Selection films interested the festival-goers as well: especially the Take That piece Look Back, Don't Stare and reggae chronicle Holding on to Jah drew audience's attention. The Grand Opening of MusiXine and Oulu Music Festival at Nallikari Winter Village treated the crowd with live music and miniature spectacles during the chilly Sunday afternoon. The wintery evening was topped of with Leonard Cohen concert film, reflected on a wall of snow.

Organized in cooperation with FilmArc and North Finland Film Commission, MusiXine FocusOn Seminar was a great success.  The seminar, starred by re-recording mixer Tom Fleischman, gathered tens of listeners to both the audience lecture and workshop section. In addition to the Finnish audience, the seminar was also noted in Sweden and Norway.

Approximately 700 festival-goers visited MusiXine during the weekend.
