MusiXine keeps on rocking

MusiXine provides a chance to see the most intriguing music films on a big screen one last time today and tomorrow. The weekend is filled with flicks from both the Official Selection and the Special Screenings: for example, if you missed the infamous bad boy of rock n' roll on Tuesday's Doc Lounge, you can still dive into Lemmy's wicked world on Saturday. Other screenings present among others Jack and Meg from the White Stripes and musicians fighting against the society in films such as Beats of Freedom and Tom Ze Astronauta Libertado. If boy bands and handsome males are more to your liking, take a closer look at Blur documentary No Distance Left to Run or Look Back, Don't Stare, depicting the friendship of the members of Take That.

Besides the screened sweets, MusiXine brings you a special guest straight from Hollywood on Saturday: in MusiXine FocusOn seminar the audience gets tips from a legendary sound re-recording mixer Tom Fleischman. With over 30 years' experience in mixing sound for the top film-makers of the day, Fleischman is a first-call re-recording mixer for such A-list directors as Martin Scorsese, Spike Lee and Ron Howard. The MusiXine FocusOn is organized in cooperation with FilmArc and North Finland Film Commission.

The festival ends with ceremonial activities: MusiXine Award Jollity hands out the Main Award for the winning film. The grand prize of 2500 euros is donated by the non-profit organization Oulu Music Video Festival. The victorious work will be screened at restaurant 45 Special on Saturday 19 March starting at 8 p.m.
