MusiXine International Music Film Contest is an annual part of the Oulu Music Video Festival.
Establishing an international music film contest to highlight the festival's film programme was part of the European Union funded project "MusiXine". The project also concentrated on developing the OMVF archive of Finnish music videos, which is the largest one in Finland. The MusiXine project was funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Council of Oulu Region and the City of Oulu.
In 2008 the non-profit organisation Oulu Music Video Festival receives remarkable funding from the Cultural Committee of the City of Oulu, ESEK/LUSES: The Finnish Performing Music Promotion Centre and The National Council for Cinema.
