Jury Verdict:

The winning film tells a bittersweet story that is repeated from one generation to another. With well developed characters, the filmmaker celebrates the non-conformist culture with and unusual degree of intimacy and honesty. The spirit and idealism of the late 1970s punk generation is visible through familiar yet exotic archive footage and living anew in the young protagonist, Seve of "Akupunktio". As much as the film has a local context, there are strong common qualities of the D.I.Y process that now is everywhere. The warm and humorous touch of the film is complemented by playing with the stereotypes of Finnish culture. Not for Finns only.

A special mention went to the film Scott Walker - 30 Century Man (UK/USA 2006) for it's captivating use of music.
