MusiXine, the International Music Film Contest welcomes all films on music, making music and music related phenomena to compete. MusiXine is based on the concern of maintaining artistic value in rapidly grown music film scene. The contest encourages filmmakers to treat the world of music with intuitive view. In the MusiXine, works are evaluated for their cinematic merit in the context of music film. In the accepted MusiXine entries, the filmmakers have approached music from different angles: music as an establisher of identity, as a tool of politics and as a medium of passion and commitment. They have also presented different genres of music from Romanian electro to alternative rock and Spanish popular music. The films selected for MusiXine are evaluated by an independent and international jury of film and music professionals. The jury selects the best
music film, and awards it with the MusiXine Main Award, 5000 euros, donated by the Oulu Music Video Festival. MusiXine's rules and procedure comply with the European Coordination of Film Festivals/EEIG and the International Federation of Film Producers Assiociations/FIAPF film contest guidelines and commonly used guidelines followed by the industry itself. OMVF & MusiXine are part of the international network of music film festivals AMUSIFF, Association of Music Film Festivals, with 12 other festivals worldwide. |
