The Global Air Guitar Network is growing, and now it's time to say a big welcome to Air Guitar Scotland. The first official Scottish Air Guitar Championships will be held on 1 August at the Classic Grand, Glasgow. The winner will be awarded with a trip to the national air guitar championships held in London on 7 August 2009.

Brits are truly an air guitar nation for they now hold the new world record for the Largest Air Guitar Ensemble. On 11 July a total of 1261 formally registered talented young people took an axe to The Pretender by Foo Fighters at the Sheffield Arena, London.
