In past two weeks seven new air guitar champions have been selected. This group of winner consists old and new friends - not to mention the only female air guitar champ so far! Now only the Norwegians have a chance to rise to the top when the 8th Norwegian national air guitar championships are held in Alta on 19 August.
- Romanian air guitar championships in Bucharest draw attention of the media: 3 TV stations, 2 radio stations and a large coverage of newspapers and online-media were represented in Green Hours Jazz Club on 2 August. The winner was chosen and he is 21 year old Stefan ”Buvnitz” Zaharescu!
- Brazilian championships in Goiânia on 1 August were also eagerly followed by the national press. The most wanted title was taken by an old pal from the Air Guitar World Championships: Fausto "Mr. Heavyer Dannair" Carraro. - Some of you might remember the new air guitar master of Switzerland - Alessandro "Mystic Barrito" Veletta. He got the 5th place in Air Guitar World Championships last year. The Swiss national air guitar championships were held on 7 August in Basil, check out the video here.
- The 7th US air guitar championships were held in Washington DC on 7 August. Andrew "William Ocean" Litz is the US Air Guitar champion for a second consecutive year. Click here to see William Ocean end his 60 seconds with style.
- The UK air guitar battle heated up the crowd in London on 7 August. After two rounds of hard air rocking, Thom "Wild Thing 37" Wilding got the highest score and became the new UK Champion. Adore his performance here.
- For the second time in a row the air guitar master of Canada is Cole "Johnny Utah" Manson. He is not called the master for nothing - last year he got the 3rd place in the world final.
- Japanese national air guitar championships on 9 August were held during the Summer Sonic Festival. Fierce air guitarist May rocked the stage and became the first female champion in Japan. Check out the photo gallery here.
These winners too will join the other champs in Air Guitar World Championships in Oulu, Finland on 21 August 2009.
