Last Minute Call for the Final Competition Entries

Only three weeks to go - it's almost time to breathe the Air! The official programme of this year’s ultimate jamboree in the Air Guitar World Championships is out.

The AGWC opens with the traditional High Altitude Training Camp on Wednesday 19 August. The happy campers train at the official House of Peace Rauhala and in the idyllic surroundings of Villa Pukkila on Hietasaari island. The essential air guitar insight of the lectures and workshops is given by the familiar air guitar veterans, musician-writer and the Air Guitar Guru in all of his divinity, Dan “Björn Türoque” Crane (US) with actor Janne Raudaskoski and dancer-choreographer Teemu Tuohimaa. The top tips on how to win the desired title of the Air Guitar World Champion are handed out by the last year’s master, Craig “Hot Lixx Hulahan” Billmeier (US).

The Qualifying Round for Dark Horses, the place to be for those air guitarists outside of the official network countries, will be competed in 45 Special on Thursday 20 August. The post-competition after sweat ‘til the wee hours is guaranteed by the air guitar karaoke, Aireoke session and a special appearance of frisky mimic art, airband Airnadette (FRA).

The thrilling World Final with the official national champions of 20 countries plus the victorious dark horses will be celebrated at Oulu Marketplace on Friday 21 August. The celebration includes also the Declaration of Air Guitar Peace and the official Parade for world peace before the final event.

The enrolment deadline for the three-day Air Guitar World Championships and the High Altitude Training Camp is Monday 3 August. More info on the enrolment and the form to fill in at http://www.airguitarworldchampionships.com/2009/EN/how-to-enter.html
