MusiXine International Music Film Contest opens for entries

MusiXine International Music Film Contest is again in the hunt for music films in the highest artistic value. MusiXine is a contest for films on music, making music and music related phenomena. The best film in tune will receive the MusiXine Main Award of 5,000 euros, which is donated by Oulu Music Video Festival.

MusiXine is based on the concern of maintaining artistic value in rapidly grown music film industry. The contest encourages filmmakers to treat the world of music with intuitive view.

MusiXine accepts both documentaries and features to enter. Contest films may represent all music genres - from pop to classical. Last year's MusiXine winner was the free jazz film My Name Is Albert Ayler (dir. Kasper Collin, Sweden 2005).

A preliminary jury chooses 8 to 12 music films to the MusiXine Selection. The winner of the selection is picked out by an international jury of music and film professionals. The MusiXine Selection will be screened from Wednesday to Saturday during the festival, and the best film on beat will be awarded in the MusiXine Award Brunch full of feeling on Sunday August 24, 2008.

MusiXine International Music Film Contest is organized for the second time as a part of Oulu Music Video Festival. MusiXine highlights the 15th anniversary of the festival, along with brilliant music video showcases and the one and only Air Guitar World Championships on August 20-24, 2008.

Submission instructions can be found here. The MusiXine submission deadline is April 25, 2008. Pump up the beat and participate!
