The busiest month of the air guitar year starts vividly - both Brazil and Romania select their very first national air guitar champions at the same weekend.

Brazilian championships will take place in Goiânia on 1 August 2009. The idea for Brazilian air guitar championships came already a couple of years ago when Fausto "Heavier Dannair" Carraro visited Oulu and the AGWC in 2007. Search for the greatest air guitarist in Romania will be completed on 2 August when their 1st national air guitar championships takes place in Bucharest.

The newly selected winners will pack up their air guitars and travel to Oulu, Finland to compete in the 14th annual Air Guitar World Championships on 21 August 2009.
