The MusiXine winner 2009 is Gogol Bordello Non-Stop directed by Margarita Jimeno (USA 2008). The winner film was rewarded with a main prize of 5,000 euros. See the MusiXine Selection 2009.

The 2007 MusiXine winner was the free jazz documentary My Name is Albert Ayler (directed by Kasper Collin, Sweden 2005), in 2008 the jury's favourite was Punksters & Youngsters (dir. Jouko Aaltonen, Finland 2008).

MusiXine accepts both documentary and fiction films with music as their main content - ranging from pop to classical. However, MusiXine is not a contest for music videos, and the works will not be evaluated on the basis of their soundtrack or their use of music in the film.
